I recently had to go through the devastating loss of my elderly mother passing away. Through the difficult times, a smile was always brought to my face as a bouquet of flowers was delivered to my home. It wasn’t the flowers that brought the smile, but the fact that someone cares so much about my mother that they send flowers. My favorites were the ones that were extremely personalized to my mother’s favorite flower, a daisy. It always touched me when the person who sent the flowers did not just enclose a note about the normal comments about difficult times during my loss and how they understand my pain, but the people who took the time to write about my mother and how she had an impact upon their life. Next time you send funeral flowers , don’t simply write your regrets about the death, but write about what the person meant to you, the family will appreciate it much more.
