Funeral Wreaths?

Does anyone know how many flowers would be needed to create a funeral wreath using letters? There are 5 letters . . . We need to know how many flowers all together, or how many per

Im creating the Wreath Letters D A D individually, But my friend wants the ribbon looped around the edges (as seen here on this link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dad-wreath-tribute -funeral-flowers-St-Albans-area_W0QQitem
The ribbon is just folded kind of like an S shape and glued at each point. I hope that makes sense.

It is my dads funeral in a few days and am unsure what type of wreath to get, fresh flowers look nice but don't last as long as silk flowers, Is it best to use real?
