What flowers can I plant in Louisiana that will attract hummingbirds and/or butterflies?

First i would like to say thanks to any one who even attempts to answer my question.............Im 16 years old and i live in Louisiana close to New Orleans and i want to start a garden
hummingbirds like Cannas, especially the ones with the red flowers use to have cannas outside my window and got to see them very close up

any flower that has color to it , bees are part of the order and hummers and butterfly's are seasonal . Someone has a hive or hives near you. bees are

Just bought a house and I am landscraping my front yard. I only want to buy perennials, I only want to do this once. I am looking for lots of colors.
