I live in Kansas and I need to know when to plant my sunflowers. I am planting Mammoth Sunflowers. When do I plant them?

How do you make your own sunflower seeds? I have three huge sunflowers in my garden.
The best way to make sunflower seeds is to get sea salt, a large kettle or pot, and some mature sunflower seeds.

I think it's similar to making pumpkin seeds. You boil the seeds in a concentrated salt water solution, then dry the seeds in a slow oven on low heat.
